If you’ve relied on Disney’s Magical Express for all of your Disney transportation from the airport, you’re probably wondering what other choices you’ll have once Magical Express is no longer available. Even though 2022 is a long way off, it’s never too early to start planning! So, now that the Magical Express has been retired, these are some of the best ways to get to Disney World.
Now, the value of some of these and how effective or productive they might be for your traveling party is dependent on the number of people in your group, so keep that in mind.
Use a Rideshare Service
Using an app on your phone to arrange for someone to pick you up from Orlando International Airport and take you directly to your Disney World hotel, whether you use a rideshare service, can be fairly easy and convenient. You’ll want to consider the cost of this choice when deciding if it’s suitable for your party.
Depending on the number of people in your party and the amount of luggage you have, a rideshare choice might be very restricted. You may not all fit in a single car, even a larger one, whether you’re traveling with a large group or just have a large family. However, one significant advantage of this method of transportation is that you can be dropped off directly at your hotel, eliminating the need to stop at other hotels to let out other passengers. To reduce any of these parking fees, rent a car for the day of your arrival, pick it up at the airport, drop your family and bags off at the hotel, and then appoint one person to return it to Disney’s Car Care Center the same day, using the Complimentary Shuttle Service to return to your hotel. Then, on the way back to the airport, you might repeat the process in reverse.
Take A Taxi
Another choice is to take a taxi directly from the airport. Some rideshare services, such as Uber, allow you to book a local taxi cab directly on the app, or you can call or hail a cab while at the airport.
Some taxis have a capacity of up to nine passengers. If you want Disney transportation for hosting a big gathering, this can be advantageous. You may need to call the taxi company to order a car seat, and some may charge a fee, so keep that in mind.
Take A Shuttle Bus or Van
While the Magical Express will be phased out in 2022, other shared-ride shuttle buses and vans will carry you to your hotel from the airport. These shuttles or vans can be very cost-effective.
You should bear in mind that the shuttle can make several stops depending on the transfer time and destination. If you need to get to your hotel quickly or want to have the transportation vehicle to yourself, a shared service like this might not be the best option for you.
Additional Private Transportation Services
You may also hire a car, a van, or another vehicle from a private car service company. These can accommodate a large number of passengers, are pet-friendly, offer child seats, or have other features that you can value. You might also choose something expensive like a limo if you’re celebrating a special event or just want to add some extra style to your ride!
Finally, depending on how many people you’re sharing the expense with, renting a van or other vehicle from one of these private Disney transportation providers can be a smart financial option.
